Privacy Policy
This policy explains what information LifeLedger may collect, how it may be used, when it may be shared, and what choices users have regarding their data.

LifeLedger is a finance and personal organization service that may allow users to create accounts, sign in, manage personal finance records, organize tasks and shopping lists, save backups, restore saved records, export reports, and contact support. This Privacy Policy is intended to describe how the LifeLedger website, APIs, and related app services may access, collect, use, store, and share data.
1. Information We May Collect
Depending on the features used, LifeLedger may collect the following categories of information:
- Account and profile data: such as your name, email address, phone number, password or login credentials, device identifier.
- Financial and planning records: data you enter or save in the app, which may include categories, budgets, expenses, income, debts, debt payment records, subscriptions, subscription history, saving plans, saving plan contributions, shopping lists, shopping list items, tasks, and related notes or labels.
- User preference data: settings such as currency, theme, language, notification preferences, email notification preferences, and other saved app preferences.
- Backup and export data: records included in backup, restore, synchronization, or export features, including structured financial and planning data associated with your account.
- Support and communication data: information submitted through contact forms, support requests, privacy requests, or other communications, such as your name, email address, phone number, message content, subject line, and follow-up history.
- Technical and security data: information such as IP address, user agent, request metadata, session information, authentication-related records, device-related identifiers used for account access or backup restore, and activity or audit logs generated to operate, secure, and troubleshoot the service.
2. How We Use Information
We may use collected information for the following purposes:
- To provide and operate the app and website.
- To create and manage user accounts.
- To authenticate users and help them recover or restore access to their records using approved account or device-based flows.
- To sync, back up, restore, export, or otherwise maintain user-submitted records when those features are offered.
- To save user preferences, including notification-related preferences and other account settings.
- To respond to support requests, abuse reports, privacy inquiries, and contact form submissions.
- To improve reliability, performance, accessibility, and user experience.
- To monitor security, detect suspicious activity, investigate misuse, and protect the service, users, and the public.

LifeLedger does not sell personal information. If hosting, email delivery, storage, analytics, authentication, notification, or crash reporting providers are used, they should be used only to support operation of the service and not to sell user data.
3. Legal Basis and Consent
Where required by applicable law, we process information based on one or more of the following grounds: your consent, performance of a contract with you, our legitimate interests in operating and securing the service, and compliance with legal obligations.
4. Sharing of Information
We may share information in the following limited situations:
- Service providers: with vendors that help host, maintain, secure, analyze, deliver email, store data, or support the service, subject to appropriate contractual or operational controls.
- Legal compliance: when disclosure is required by law, court order, regulation, or other lawful process.
- Protection of rights and safety: when reasonably necessary to protect users, the service, or the public.
- Business transfers: if the service is reorganized, merged, sold, or transferred, subject to applicable legal requirements.
For Google Play Data safety purposes, you should also make sure that any third-party SDKs or services included in the mobile app are reflected consistently in both the Play Console disclosures and this policy.
5. Data Retention
We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the service, support legitimate business needs, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and comply with legal obligations. Retention periods may vary depending on the type of data and the purpose for which it is processed.
- Account and app records: may be retained while your account remains active and for a reasonable period afterward to support backup recovery, legal compliance, fraud prevention, dispute handling, and enforcement.
- Backups and exports: may be retained until deleted, replaced, expired under service rules, or removed as part of account deletion or maintenance workflows.
- Support messages and contact submissions: may be retained for follow-up, troubleshooting, and recordkeeping.
- Logs and security records: may be retained for a limited period appropriate for monitoring, abuse prevention, troubleshooting, and legal compliance.
6. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards intended to protect personal information and user-submitted content. These measures may include authentication controls, access restrictions, logging, and other security practices appropriate to the service as implemented. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Permissions and Device Access
Depending on the mobile app version and enabled features, LifeLedger may request or rely on device or app-level access that supports core functionality, such as network access, notifications, authentication, device-linked restore flows, or local handling of app content. Any permission requested by the mobile app should be limited to user-facing functionality and should be disclosed consistently in the app, this policy, and the Google Play Data safety section.
8. Your Choices and Rights
Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have the right to request access to, correction of, export of, restriction of, objection to, or deletion of certain personal information. You may also be able to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.

- You may be able to update some account information directly in the app.
- You may contact us to request deletion of eligible account data, backups, or support records, subject to legal, security, fraud-prevention, and operational retention requirements.
- If notifications are supported, you may also manage notification permissions or settings through your device or app settings.
9. Children's Privacy
LifeLedger is not intended for children under the age required by applicable law to use the service independently. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children in violation of applicable law. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so we can review and take appropriate action.
10. International Transfers
If the service is operated or supported across different countries, information may be processed in places other than your country of residence. Where required, we will take steps intended to provide appropriate safeguards for cross-border transfers.
11. Policy Updates
We may update this policy from time to time to reflect changes in the service, legal requirements, or our information practices. When we do, we will post the revised version on this page and update the effective date above.
